ANALYSIS OF BENEFITS HIGH SPEED TRAINS SYSTEM

Abstract

The high-speed rail system is a unique, fast, innovative and efficient mode of transport. This paper describes some basic characteristics of this system with special attention focused on the benefits it brings. Some basic parameters that must be met by the railway infrastructure for high speeds are presented. The characteristics of the high-speed trains, from the technical aspect and the manner of their maintenance, are discussed. The advantages of the high-speed train system are numerous, but the paper focuses on transport efficiency, economic and social benefits, as well as minimal impact on environmental pollution. Given that high-speed train and railway systems today are a serious indicator of the development of a country, the paper presents some global data related to them, as well as a list of countries that exploit this type of transport.
