Abstract

Railway transport represents one of the key elements of the transportation system, as it enables efficient connection between different regions, cities, and economic centres. In the Zlatibor District, which is characterized by pronounced geographical diversity and developed tourism potential, railway transport holds special importance both for the local population and for tourists visiting the area. The aim of this study is to analyse the quality of passenger railway transport in the Zlatibor District, with a focus on Užice station as the central point of the railway network in this region. The research includes examining several service quality parameters – accuracy of departures and arrivals, safety, comfort, accessibility, passenger information, and the level of user satisfaction. The analysis is based on statistical data on the number of transported passengers, the timetable, and the results of a survey conducted among railway transport users. The obtained results provide insight into the current state and indicate opportunities for service improvement, in order to increase traffic efficiency, passenger satisfaction, and the competitiveness of railways compared to other modes of transport.
